Kaiser offers land buyout aid
The George Kaiser Family Foundation has offered to donate funds to help the city renew the Kendall-Whittier area by providing mixed- income residential and retail opportunities, Executive Director Ken Levit said. The Tulsa Development Authority talked last week about the foundation's offer to make up the funding gap in the authority's effort to remove blight and abandoned structures in a two-block area east of the Educare Early Childhood Center next to Kendall-Whittier Elementary School. The area, between Lewis and Atlanta avenues from Fifth Place to just past Fourth Place, is part of the Kendall-Whittier Master Plan.
